Women in Film and Television honor communication professor

Kay Beck, associate professor of communication and director of the Digital Arts and Entertainment Laboratory (DAEL) at Georgia State, will receive an outstanding achievement award from the Atlanta chapter of Women in Film and Television (WIFTA). WIFTA awards are presented to persons and organizations that have made valuable contributions to the advancement of women in the film and television industry. Beck will receive her award at WIFTA’s 35th Anniversary Gala Fundraiser on Oct. 23 at the Emory Conference Center Hotel.
Under Beck’s leadership, DAEL has collaborated with major media outlets including Turner Broadcasting and Coca-Cola. Her research interests include new media, digital production and film history and theory. Additional information about WIFTA may be found here.
