Jelena Subotic, assistant professor of political science at Georgia State, has been invited by the non-profit organization Israel America Academic Exchange (IAAE) to participate in a prestigious mission to Israel in June. Subotic will join about a dozen of her fellow scholars for this week-long trip where they will attend lectures and participate in meetings with leading Israeli and Palestinian public figures. They will also have the opportunity to tour Israel by car and helicopter.
The IAAE sponsors educational missions to Israel for American scholars studying political science, international relations, international law and economic development, modern history and Middle East studies with a goal to “deepen understanding of Israel within the American academic community.” These missions are co-sponsored by the Milken Institute, an independent think tank based in Santa Monica, Calif., and the Yitzak Rabin Center in Tel Aviv, Israel.
Each participant is nominated by members of IAAE’s academic board. Subotic’s academic interests include international relations theory, international organizations and human rights. Additional information about IAAE may be found at www.academicexchange.com.
