The Breman Museum Proudly Presents The Forgotten Photographs: From the collection of Spencer M. Partrich October 11, 2007 - January 20, 2008 The Forgotten Photographs: The Work of Paul Goldman from 1943 - 1961, is an extraordinary, historical view of the early formation of the modern-day state of Israel. Through the extremely clever and sharp perspective of Paul Goldman, a Hungarian Jew, who escaped Nazi terror by emigrating to Israel (then Palestine) in 1940 with his wife, we are introduced to a photographic record that reflects Israel's collective memory. His work was largely forgotten, until now. In the exhibition catalog,Shlomo Arad, curator of The Forgotten Photographs and Newsweek photographer emeritus calls the collection "a treasure for historians and sociologists, students and researchers."
