Welcome to the website of Georgia State University's College of Arts and Sciences. Whether you are searching for something specific or are casually looking through these pages, we hope that you will enjoy learning a bit more about our diverse programs and our many accomplished students, faculty, and staff.
As we begin this new academic year together, I am honored and excited to begin my second year as dean of GSU's College of Arts and Sciences.
I am proud to say that the College of Arts and Sciences is at the heart of the university’s educational mission. We offer core classes to all GSU undergraduates, and enroll nearly 14,000 students in over 80 degree programs, both graduate and undergraduate.
As GSU continues to grow and develop according to its strategic plan, we in Arts and Sciences will be on the leading edge of those changes. This fall, as there is almost every fall, there are new programs, facilities and degrees in the College, including a brand-new B.S. program in Neuroscience, the new Center for Diagnostics and Therapeutics, and a new video exhibition space in the Digital Arts and Entertainment Laboratory, among others.
This is not an institution that has ever rested on its laurels, and I look forward to working with you to shape the next wave of new projects and programs. Together, we will continue to work to enhance the educational experience of our students, reach new heights of excellence in research, and build on the university’s strong connections both globally and locally.
