The grant provided the opportunity for Georgia State University to renew partnerships with Tsinghua and Renmin Universities in Beijing and extend new partnerships to several other universities in Shanghai and Sichuan in order to create a base for sociological and gerontological research in China. Greece and the School of Music

Faculty of the School of Music performed at the Dimitria Festival for Art and Music held in Thessaloniki, Greece on October 15, 2008 as featured guests.  The performance received great reviews and the grant efforts resulted in the formal signing of a new exchange agreement between Georgia State University and Aritstotle University.  The program will support exchange for faculty and students in the areas of Hellenic Studies, Anthropology and Music.  Project Lead:  Dr. Nick Demos, School of Music.

 

 

 

 

 

Italy and Modern and Classical Languages

 

Through the College of Arts and Science's strong exchange and study abroad programs with the University of Venice, a new partnership between Georgia State and the University of Venice is being cultivated.  The effort will culminate in a joint degree program between the institutions in American Studies, Italian Studies and International Economics and involving the collaboration of the College of Arts and Sciences and the Andrew J. Young School of Policy Studies.  Project Lead:  Dr. Richard Keatley, Modern and Classical Languages.
