Obtaining Approval to Search

    1. Department Chair determines the need for a new or replacement faculty appointment following consultation and budgetary analysis with the Dean and Associate Dean within the college.

    2. The hiring department should complete the Faculty Position Vacancy Form (Appendix A) and job advertisement for each new position.  The completed Appx A and job ad is forwarded to the College HR Officer who reviews the form for accuracy and completeness.

    3. The HR Officer forwards Appx A to the Dean for approval and then to the Provost for approval and assignment of a log number.

    4. The Provost notifies the HR Officer of the assigned Log number and returns the approved Appx A to the HR Officer.  The HR Officer sends a copy of the approved Appx A to the department.  The original Appendix A is retained on file by the HR Officer.
